Physical Capabilities: Physically Demanding; Lifting, Bending, Crouching, Kneeling
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have substantial grading experience and poses strong communication skills, a high level of enthusiasm, the ability to learn quickly, take lead and lead a small team of laborers.
As a Foreman, you will play a critical role in supporting and assisting the operations team with achieving their business objectives with the following responsibilities:
- Work cooperatively with grading team and assist in site design interpretation and efficiency execution
- Maintain clear communication with Construction and Project Managers
- Use own initiative and apply a deductive approach when maintaining productivity and effectiveness
- Operate skid-steer for fine grading
- Perform catch basin work
- Operate common construction machines used in parking lot repair work
- Follow all company health and safety requirements; including health and safety paperwork (i.e. JHA’s, Safety Talks etc.)
- Work independently and maintain a schedule of work
- Ability to work as a team member and communicate with coworkers
- Ensure all personnel onsite (e.i. coworkers, subcontractors) are following all protocols
Area of Specialization: Fine Grading
Requirements:
- Valid G driver’s license must be willing to travel within the GTA and its immediate surrounding areas
- Experienced skid-steer operator for fine grading
- Experienced in general operation of common machines used in parking lot
- Experienced with catch basin work
- Sound planning and organization skills
- Strong people/supervision skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels
- Physically able to lift up to 50-80 lbs
- Willingness to work overtime
